When Rachel Bashabe founded Veryl Designs in 2013, it wasn’t just a business move — it was a bold act of following her heart.
“Fashion fascinated me,” Rachel once said. “The way clothes could transform someone’s confidence — it was like magic.”
Born and raised in Uganda, Rachel was always drawn to style. But life nudged her toward a Business Administration degree at Makerere University. Still, the pull of fashion never left her.
Instead of climbing the corporate ladder after graduation, she made a different choice — to design. With no formal training, just raw passion and an eye for detail, she began creating clothes for friends and family. The feedback? Instant love. And that was all the fuel she needed.
Named after her mother — Veryl, her first and forever muse — the brand was built on style, comfort, and confidence for women. In the early days, the struggle was real. But so was Rachel’s resilience.
Veryl Designs soon found its voice: a unique fusion of traditional Ugandan vibrance and modern western flair. Think bold prints, clean cuts, rich textures — all rooted in culture and made for today’s woman.
Today, Veryl Designs is more than just a label. It’s a tribute to passion, heritage, and bold dreams. And for Rachel Bashabe, this is just the beginning.
Uganda’s fashion scene is better because she believed in her story — and chose to wear it proudly.
